more progress...

I still can't find the right paint color for my bedroom so the wall now looks like this:

The only thing Ryan and I can agree on is to disagree.  Ryan wants something bold while I am going for more subtle elegance.  He hated the lighter blue (middle) until I decided to go with more of a grey blue and now he claims the light blue is the best.  I am getting tired of trying out paint samples.  Do you have the perfect color for me?
Good news is, I found a rug!  While waiting for my latest paint sample to be mixed at Home Depot, I wandered over to the rugs.  They had a stack of assorted rugs that they get shipped and offer for an incredibly low price.  I had a rug in mind online here but by the time I got the larger size I wanted and pay for shipping I was looking at over $300 on the low end and I cringed at the thought of paying upwards of $600!

This rug was actually 2 feet bigger in each direction than the ones I looked at online and was priced at only $197.  I think it works nicely.  Now if my fabric would hurry and get here!  Here is what I ordered:

My brother says it looks like a grandmas house.  I don't care because I like it!

I went through a little drama over my fabric.  I had picked out a totally different print and had coordinating prints to match but when I went to place the order, JoAnn's  JoAnn Fabrics sadly let me know that my coordinating print that was tying the entire look together was no longer available.  I had already drug my kids to the store on 3 different occasions to pick out samples and their 50% off sale was ending within days.  I was determined to get this job done so I searched and searched fabric options.  2 hours later I was able to make a totally new decision that was completely different from my original idea.

I found some coordinating blue on clearance to accent the first fabric for my valances.  The second print will be used as throw pillows along with some green fabric and gold fabric that I inherited from my Grandmother when she died.

Well, there is the update...

Love the rug and LOVE the fabrics. Not grandma at all. Cant wait to see it all finished. You kind of inspired me and I am thinking of finally getting some curtains I need and hanging a few things on the walls that I have needed to put up FOREVER. Still experiencing sticker shock over the couch I want though....

I like the blue on the far right. Of course, I think I might be a bit biased. When we painted my kids' room, we did blue. I really like it b/c it's light but when you close the curtain for nap time, it isn't obnoxiously bright still. It also keeps it from getting super dark at night. Plus, it isn't so white that everything shows.

I was gonna say that it looks like Mom. haha... as for the blue's, I think (just from the picture) if you are leaving the bottom white, do the left one. I think it will look good with vintage wood looking thinks or even just white's or blacks. just baseing on a picture.

I like the second one from the right(small chip with 2 tones) - either the light or the dark shade. Whatever you decide will look great though! I agree- redecorating and clearing clutter gives me a new lease on life. Be sure to post the after pics!
