Map Qwest, the Prophet, and 93 year old Eyebrows

all in the last 24 hours...

My sister, Jessica and I headed to SLC to attend our cousin Juleen's wedding reception - unknowing our Map Quest directions were incorrect. We detoured towards Cheyenne, around Park City, through Parleys back to SLC arriving an hour later than scheduled! The reception was a blast and worth the long trip! Being able to see family and reconnecting with cousins is always a treat. Speaking of treats, the yummy cookies from Mexico and ice cream sundaes hit the spot. The reception was well attended - even the Prophet came!

Obviously we did not follow the Map Quest directions home. It was a fun car ride though. Jess thanks for navigating!

The next morning I took Peyton to see my Grandpa
rents with my Mom and Dad. Grandma held and talked to Peyton and we were able to get a 4 generation picture taken.

Great-Grandpa, Mom, Grandpa, Great- Grandma, Peyton (2mo.)

I am grateful for the visit. It was very entertaining!
Grandma is 88 and Grandpa is 93, my dad's parents. They met at A&W, where grandma worked and have been married for 68 years. They have 51 grandchildren and 116 (i think) Great Grandchildren. While we were visiting Grandma asked my mom if she had ever kissed my dad before they were married and then wanted my mom to return the question. This began the story:
Grandpa had been taking Grandma home from work each night. Grandma thought it silly for Grandpa to have to wake up, come to the A&W, pick her up and take her home just to go back to bed. Explaining to us that if the boss couldn't take them home from work then the police would be happy to. She asked Grandpa not to see her for 3 weeks. Well a couple nights went by and then Grandpa showed up to have dinner at the A&W. He would not pay for his meal until Lois (Grandma) came and talked to him. Grandma was working in the back and her boss told her that she had better go talk to Lee (Grandpa) and get the money and then get back to work. Grandpa wanted to drive Grandma home and she wasn't going to let it happen. Grandpa said he wouldn't pay for his meal unless she let him drive her home so she consented. Lee drove Lois the 1 mile drive home and when he walked her to her door, He said, "Lois Marry Me". Lois was upset because she smelled like a hamburger (quoting Grandma, "where is the romance?")and ran inside to put on her pretty pink dress. When she reappeard Grandpa proposed and they kissed for the first time!

Grandma then looked at Grandpa and noticed (even though she is blind in one eye) that Grandpa's eyebrows were getting long. Grandma went to get the scissors and Grandpa asked me to cut them for him - too bad I didn't get a picture - I don't know when I will ever trim a 93 year olds eyebrows again.
