Ethan has been so good to try new foods participating in school lunch. Well the other day he decided there were just some things he just does not like. He knew he was bound to have a yucky lunch in the days to come so he told me that he wanted to know what was coming up on the calendar. I could not find my lunch calendar and was busy with other things so I told him not to worry about it. He went to play at his cousins house that day and had Riley tell him what they were eating the next day. It was chicken and mashed potatoes (which is yummy according to Ethan) but whatever he was having the day after he was not excited about. He came home from playing and told me that he needed a sack lunch that day. I did not want one more thing to worry about (homework and getting him up ontime are challenges in themselves) so I told him that if it was that important for him to have a sack lunch it would be his responsibility to remind me and help get it made. Nuff said... and life went on for another day.
Last night I was gone to Roundtable and when I came home Ethan was putting his lunch box into the fridge. He proudly made himself a pb&j sandwich, put grapes into a baggie, added a granola bar and found a small water bottle and got himself a drink of water to go with his lunch. He also added a fork but then realized he didn't need it so he removed it. He even found an ice pack in the freezer to keep his food cold! Wow!! I was impressed (and he did it all by himself!!)
Ethan then announced to me that he wanted to join the PE Dance Club. The club is for elementary students and they meet an hour before school starts 4 times a week. They are going to preform several dances at Macey's grocery store for their Holiday Open House. One of the girls in his kindergarten class had participated last year and ended up on the front page of the newspaper. I don't know if he is really excited about dancing or if he just wants to be in the newspaper??
Stockton has been my little buddy while Ethan has been busy at school. He wishes he could go to preschool everyday and gets mad at me when I have to tell him it is not a school day. I do take him everyday to play at kids club while I work out at the gym and he does enjoy it - not as much as preschool but he knows that if Michelle (the laundry lady) is there he will get a treat and he looks forward to treats. He also makes us "beau-full" pictures that we now have posted all over our back door.
We were so excited to get Stockton potty trained (it took forever...) he occasionally has accidents and we have tried hard to accomodate him when he just has to go RIGHT NOW! We learned after a USU Football game that making him hold it all the way down the hill to the car was not a good idea - there was no place for him to go at the car and the accident happend. Luckily with boys they can practically go anywhere and a parking lot is as good as anything when you have the baby buckled in and there is no way you are making it inside to the public restrooms. Sheilding him between my large witch skirt on halloween and the car door we got the job done with no mess other than the puddle in the parking lot! (I know gross.. but really what would you have done??) I tell you the potty training drama to help you understand what Stock did yesturday. I had left him outside ridding his scooter while I went to pick Ethan up from Art class (just a few blocks away). When I returned he was happily playing. I asked him to wash his hands when he came inside and he starts telling me that he pooped outside. Now Stockton is one to fabricate a good story so I didn't know what to believe. I sent Ethan out to investigate and sure enough Ethan verified the tale and Stockton was so very proud that he had done the job in Ethan's window well! Oh My! I still can't figure out what possesed him but from now on we will focus on toilets!
